A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24
Friendship is such a wonderful gift that God has given to us. If you have a few true friends that you can always count on, learn from, have fun with, and vise versa...realize that God has truly blessed you. Some people struggle to find true friendship. We really feel for the people that put 100% effort into a friendship just to have the other person drop the ball constantly. It's tiring and it hurts. Relationships require the effort of BOTH people. Both need to text, both need to ask to hang out, both need to uphold promises...man, this list just goes on and on. Always take into consideration the other person's feelings. If you say you're going to do something, DO IT. Don't forget about it and leave the other person hanging wondering if they're unwanted and replaceable. It's so frustrating trying to keep a one sided friendship going and in the end, it's not worth the pain. God will put the right people into your life when you need them. He's not there to give you a ton of friends, but he's there to give you true friendship...even if it may only be with one person. So if you have a best friend, cherish him/her. You've got something special, not to be taken for granted. And if you need to work on being a good friend, do it. Sooner or later that person is going to get real tired of carrying the weight of the relationship on their own back and they will drop you. God bless.
