Hello! Pablo was very adament about making this blog post about color coordination and Jenny 100% agreed. Color coordinating is a major part of looking good. There are many color options to choose from and we believe that the ones that DO work outweigh the ones that DON'T. Here are some tips:
1) White goes with EVERYTHING. It's true. That's all we have to say about that.
2) You CAN match prints. ...but only if they have the same colors in them. We would only suggest combining 2 prints at most.
3) Black and brown usually make people frown. In most cases, black and brown don't go together, especially if a dark brown is involved. However, you can get away with black and light brown/tan color if you do it right. One major tip is to MAKE SURE YOUR BELT COLOR MATCHES YOUR SHOE COLOR. Please. We can't stress that enough. Black shoes = black belt. Brown shoes = brown belt. Also, never wear brown shoes with black dress pants or we'll be forced to burn both the pants and shoes...and probably your shirt seeing as you've already made a conscious decision to wear the pants and shoes. (We will still love you, though. Definitely be more worried about how you are on the inside versus what you wear because self growth is way more important than outward appearance.)
4) Accessories. Gold and silver jewelry can go together, but it's Jenny's personal preference that you stick to one or the other. It just seems to look a little cleaner. When jewelry has some type of beading or colored stone, just test it out to see if it looks good. For guys that stick to tip #3, gold or silver works with both black and brown. If you wanted to wear a brown watch with your brown belt and brown shoes, go for it. Same with wearing a black watch with a black belt and black shoes.
5) Find out what works for you. There are a ton of opinions out there when it comes to color coordination. Jenny has gotten into arguments with her friends about how she thinks navy blue and black can work if it's done correctly (it's not supposed to apparently). Everyone is different! If you google fashion tips for color coordination, one site is going to say brown and gray don't work, and another site is going to say that it's the best combination in the world. The point is to feel good in whatever you wear, and, in turn, inspire other people to feel good.
We hope you guys enjoyed our July guest post yesterday as well as this post. Again, we're so thankful for the increasing views on here. We're having a blast running this blog and we hope you guys are loving it too. Have an amazing weekend! God bless.
